A Half Scan is a CT data acquisition method where the specimen is rotated approximately 180 degrees (typically 180 degrees plus the fan angle) to collect the necessary projection data.
This technique significantly reduces scanning time compared to a Full Scan, which requires a complete 360-degree rotation. Half Scans are optimized for applications requiring high throughput or time-critical inspections. However, for applications demanding the highest possible image clarity and signal-to-noise ratio, a Full Scan is generally recommended.
