Reconstruction is the computational process of generating a cross-sectional image (tomogram) from projection data acquired by a CT system. Reconstruction algorithms are broadly classified into analytical methods, such as Filtered Back Projection (FBP), and Iterative Reconstruction (IR). While FBP has traditionally been the standard due to its processing speed, iterative methods are becoming more prevalent for their superior performance in reducing image artifacts and noise.
