Cone beam artifacts, also referred to as Feldkamp artifacts, manifest as geometric distortions or shading at the top and bottom edges (Z-axis extremities) of a reconstructed image. These artifacts arise from the inherent data incompleteness associated with large cone angles in standard circular scans. To minimize these effects, it is recommended to position the region of interest (ROI) as close to the central plane as possible or adjust the sample orientation during setup.
