AU series is a high performance, high-reliability and high-quality DC high voltage power supply
as a result of our high-voltage power technology built up over the years.
High efficiency and ultra compact developed through our unique switching and voltage isolation technology.

With a wide lineup of over 300 models and diverse options, we provide you with the most suitable models from the output range of 1 kV to 120 kV/30 W to 2200 W. The AU series comes standard with various remote control and monitoring functions. Adding a digital control interface enhances the extensibility for Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) systems and diverse high-voltage experiments, including evaluations of inverters and power devices. The AU series is only a third to half the size of conventional power supplies and is designed for compact devices and saving facilities space. Double or triple protection allows for safer operation. The new master/slave option enables higher power output operation.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

  • 1. WIDE RANGE OF LINEUP

    With over 300 models ranging from 1 kV to 120 kV and 30 W to 2200 W, you can select the optimal output range and functions to suit your needs. Therefore, you can select the precise model for your needs, avoiding over-specifying and unnecessary investment.
    AU series has an -LC option for the automatic switch of constant voltage/constant current modes, and other options such as different input voltage or slow ramp-up are available.

  • 2. COMPREHENSIVE REMOTE FUNCTIONS

    The high-voltage output voltage and current can be controlled, with output cut-off for the standard type and current limiting for models equipped with the -LC option. It also features output ON/OFF control, voltage/current monitoring outputs, high-voltage status output, and a standard external interlock for safety.
    Also, the computer remote control is available by adding a digital controller for LAN, USB, RS-232C, RS-485, and GPIB.
    You can construct system integration with other measuring instruments or control devices for faster testing and development. It's easy to build a system with the combination of our DC (low voltage) or AC power supplies.

  • 3. ULTRA LOW PROFILE/SPACE SAVING

    The panel height is only 1.73 inches (44 mm) for models ranging from 1 kV to 60 kV and 30 W to 300 W. Miniaturization and high reliability are challenges for high-voltage power supplies which our high-voltage insulation technology overcomes our high-voltage insulation technology.
    The AU series has been receiving a good reputation for applications that require space-saving, such as inspection systems for production lines or a combination of several power supplies.

Reversible polarity

Output polarity is positive, negative, or reversible high voltage with respect to chassis ground. Reversible models from 1kV to 6kV switch polarity by replacing the internal connector. For reversible models from 10kV to 120kV, the polarity is switched by replacing the internal positive and negative high-voltage units.

You can choose between the conventional model without CE marking and the CE-marked model.
Additionally:
The input power for 600 W output models will be reduced from 1300 VA to 800 VA.
The input power for 1200 W output models will be reduced from 2600 VA to 1600 VA.
The 2200 W output models will remain unchanged at 2800 VA input power.

  • By inputting the Vref output to Vcon, the output can be fixed at its maximum value.

External Interlock

External Interlock Switch

Output is enabled when there is an external relay short or when VCE is less than 0.4 V. The output will be cut off when the circuit is open or when the voltage is 2 V or higher. To resume the output again, turn the OUTPUT button ON after resetting by turning the OUTPUT button OFF in a status of short or less than 0.4 V.

-LF option: Floating ground terminal (M3)

FLOATING GROUND TERMINAL (-LF option)

Case Ground (GND) "CASE" and power supply Ground (GND) "0 V" can be isolated up to 50 V. Minimal load current can be measured by measuring the current between these 2 points to avoid the effect of ground noise.

FAQ: What is floating ground?

-LC

Enables constant voltage (CV) and constant current (CC) operation modes. *1
Current regulation 0.05% (-LC option eliminates overload trip function)

-LF

Floating ground (withstanding voltage of 50 Vdc) *2
Used when measuring minimal current in the load. All equipment that connects to the Remote control connector (TB1) must be on the floating ground in case this feature is intended to be used. (Cannot be used for the purpose of floating high-voltage power supply.)

-LMs

Master-Slave control (0.6 kW, 1.2 kW, and 2.2 kW models only) *1 *2 *3
A maximum of four slave units can be controlled with one master unit.

-LPs

Setting value display
The set voltage and current values are displayed on the meter while you press the SET button on the front panel. (This button is attached only when the -LPs option is chosen.)

-LStc

Constant current status signal
In constant current mode or when Overcurrent Protection (OCP) is activated, the open collector will transition to a high state. (VCE > 2 V)

-LStv

Constant voltage status signal
When the operation mode is Constant voltage mode, the open collector will transition to a high state. (VCE > 2 V)

-LW

Slow start *2
Takes around 10 seconds from turning on the OUTPUT switch, external output ON/OFF, and remote reset to reach the maximum rated voltage
(about 5 seconds at half the maximum rated voltage as output voltage).

-L(U)

Input voltage switch over 100 Vac to 120 Vac/200 Vac to 240 Vac single phase input. Internal switch over.
Two AC input cables (CABLE TYPE 1 and CABLE TYPE 3) are included.

-L(115V)

100 Vac to 120 Vac single phase input.
(600 W models only) (CE not compatible)

-L(220V)

200 Vac to 240 Vac single phase input.
This option is available only for models with 30W to 300W output power.
The CABLE TYPE 3 AC input cable is included.

-L(200V3P)

three-phase input
This option is available only for 2200W output models.
No AC input cable is included. Please purchase CABLE TYPE 6 separately.

-L(3m)

Change the length of the High-voltage output shielded cable to 3 meters.

-L(5m)

Change the length of the High-voltage output shielded cable to 5 meters.
(only for ≤40 kV models)

-L(7m)

Change the length of the High-voltage output shielded cable to 7 meters.
(only for ≤ 15 kV models)

  1. In case of power supply operates as cut off the output when overcurrent with master-slave connection, do not select -LC option for Master unit (the other options can be selected), and select -LC option for only slave unit (the other options can also be selected together). Combinations other than the above cut off the output when overcurrent will not work. Also, the slave unit is equipped with the -LC option. Therefore, if the slave unit is used individually, out will be either CV or CC.
  2. In case selecting -LMs option with -LF option or -LW option, all AU power supplies which connected as master/slave, need to equip -LF option or -LW option.
  3. In case you operate power supplies with CV/CC mode under master/slave connection, select the -LC option for the master unit and all slave units (the other options can also be selected together). Combinations other than the above, CV/CC will not work. Also, the Master unit and each Slave unit are equipped with the -LC option. Therefore, if each unit is used individually, out will be either CV or CC.

When ordering, add Option No. in the following order by alphabet, input voltage, and output cable length to Model No.

Optical communication

Optical isolation adapters, utilize fiber optic cables for digital communication, which enables extremely reliable communication even in noisy environments such as in factories and for long-distance control.
By using optical fibers, they are electrically isolated, so safe operation is possible even in power supply configurations with potential differences.

Application Control of high-voltage power supplies via LAN, USB, RS-232C, RS-485, or GPIB.
Connection Using fiber-optic cables, the adapter for each interface is connected to CO-HV units.
And with the dedicated control cable, the CO-HV units are connected to a high-voltage power supply AU series.
Number of units Up to 32 pairs with CO-HV units and high-voltage power supplies are available.
With GPIB, by setting the address, you can connect a maximum of 448 high-voltage power supply units (14 addresses x 32 units).
Features The communication system is well suited for such situations where there is a distance between the computer and the high-voltage power supply or in noisy environments. Also, it is especially ideal for use in combination with DC power supplies. The standard cable length is 2 meters, and it can be optionally extended up to 40 meters.
