  • 2. Preemptive Detection of Load Abnormality and Degradation

The HARS series can detect load abnormalities and degradation in advance by detecting arc discharge (abnormal discharge) and counting the number of discharges (Arc Count Function).

    • Only during output at approximately 20% or more of rated output voltage.
    • Discharge may not be counted depending on the method of use, operation environment, discharge time, etc.
  • 3. Low Ripple (0.05%p-p)

Featuring low ripple noise less than half of the HAR series, the series is ideally suited for applications where the low ripple is required such as electron beams, ion beams, detectors, etc.

  • 4. All applications covered by many models

To find the optimal model for your specific application, the HARS series offers a wide selection of load, operation, and size, with an output voltage range from 1 kV to 120 kV.

    *Actual model image may vary

  • 5. Advanced Remote Functions

From anywhere, securely monitor and control the output voltage and current, the output ON/OFF, the monitor output, and the status output – with the safety interlock feature standard on all HARS series models.

With easy integration options for simple customization, the HARS model allows users to build measurement devices and control systems that suit their exact specifications.

Also available: external interface (10 kV or less of LAN and USB) and PC control by 10 kV or less of RS-232C/RS-485 (Option).

Pulse Ramp Function Pulse Ramp Function

Set pulse/ramp operation output without a Computer control

* If the set time is shorter than the rising time: Tr or the falling time: Tf of the main unit, the output cannot follow the set value.

A. Pulse sequence

The function is possible by using voltage/current set on memory a, b and c in combination with multi-setting function. The function is available in continuous operation and number setting. By setting of time to 0.0 of memory a, b, c, and off, it is available for various operations like repeating a and b or b, c and off. Thus, it is suited to repeat cycle tests for products.

A. Pulse Sequence
ta, tb, tc, and toff can be set respectively in 0.0 to 99h 59m 59.9s.

B. Ramp

It enables to make ramp action up to set voltage or current (or from the set voltage or current to 0 V or 0 A). It is useful to like to rise (reduce) voltage or current slowly. It helps sensitive electrical load not to get damaged by overshoot.
* As for ramp operation, you can select “Both of set voltage and current”, “Voltage setting only”, or “current setting only”.

B. Ramp
t1 and t2 can be set respectively in 0.0 to 99h 59m 59.9s.

C. Pulse + Ramp

Pulse and ramp controls can also be combined. In addition, it can be combined with the multi-set function. Therefore, Sequence operation is possible using the voltage and current values set in the "a", "b", and "c" memories. Repeated and continuous operation, as well as the number of times, can be set. The power supply itself alone can be used to slowly and repeatedly increase or decrease voltage and current values up to three set values, making it useful in a variety of applications.

C. Pulse Sequence + Ramp
t1 to t4, ta to tc, and toff can be set respectively in 0.0 to 99h 59m 59.9s.

External analog remote control

  • External output ON/OFF
The output can be turned ON/OFF by relay or TTL signal.

  • Remote/Local change
As for the output voltage control, output current control, overvoltage protection, and overcurrent protection, the remote/local mode can be individually switched by relay or TTL signal.

  • Output monitor (Voltage, Current)

  • Output control (Voltage, Current, Overvoltage protection, Overcurrent protection)

  • Status output

HARS Series Options

Select the option that works best for your enterprise.

-LF

Floating Ground

For measuring current in load. (Able to withstand voltage of 50 Vdc)

For devices that connect to Remote control connector (TB1), -LF requires floating ground.

*Not compatible with floating high voltage power supply.

-LGob*

Optical interface port

Available in selecting optional optical interface port
With optical communication, isolation control is performed. As complete isolation is performed via optical fiber, this enables prevention of erroneous operation involved with transient phenomenon caused by surges, inductive lightning, external noise, etc.

Optical interface port | HARS series | High Voltage power supply Rackmount | Matsusada Precision
  • -LGob: Optical Interface port + Optical cable 2 meters
  • -LGob(Fc5): Optical Interface port + Optical cable 5 meters
  • -LGob(Fc10): Optical Interface port + Optical cable 10 meters
  • -LGob(Fc20): Optical Interface port + Optical cable 20 meters
  • -LGob(Fc40): Optical Interface port + Optical cable 40 meters

Select the optional optical interface port (-LGob) when using this DC power supply under the following conditions.

  • Noisy environments such as factories (example: when motors or coils are used nearloads or power sources).
  • If this power supply and your controller (PC or PLC) cannot be installed within 2 meters.
  • When there is a possibility of arcing or output short-circuit.

Separate adapter (CO/USB series) is required for control via digital interface.

-LRs*

RS-232C/RS-485 interface port

(only 10 kV or less models)
Using RS-232C/RS-485 communications, output controlling and operation status monitoring of these devices can be performed.

If you require a cable longer than 2.5 meters, please select this option and purchase an output cable separately.

*Only one option may be chosen at this time.

How to Order

When ordering, add Option No. in the following order:

  • Alphabet,
  • Number,
  • Input voltage, and
  • Output cable length to Model No.

Example: HARS-1P500-LFRs, HARS-1P500-LFGob(Fc10)(0m)

Accessories

Optical isolation adapter

Adapters for connecting optical interface port

This option changes the standard interfaces to built-in optical interface port. By combining this option with an adapter for optical connection (sold separately), communication between the control device and the power supply can be controlled in an isolated state. Be sure to select this option when using the product in the following environments.

  • CO-E32: LAN to optical interface adapter
  • USB-OPT: USB to optical interface adapter
  • CO-OPT2-9: RS-232C (9 pin) to optical interface adapter
  • CO-OPT2-25: RS-232C (25 pin) to optical interface adapter
  • CO-OPT4-25: RS-485 (25 pin) to optical interface adapter
  • CO-G32: GPIB to optical interface adapter (Discontinued in December 2028)
