HIGH PERFORMANCE COMPACT MODULE
AP/AS series is a fast response high voltage amplifier module through Matsusada Precision's extensive experiences and know-how in High Voltage power supply technologies.
Featuring high-speed response both with 250 Hz to 3 kHz in the AP series and with 1.5 kHz to 50 kHz in the AS series, the series provides high voltage output with sine waves, triangle waves, sawtooth waves, and square waves in proportion to the input waveform.
Moreover, as all-solid-state amplifiers, all the models offer a wide variety of output voltage ranging from 0.3 kV to 10 kV for positive/negative polarity types and from ±0.3 kV to ±3 kV for the bipolar output type.
Also, special specifications of the series are available according to your requirements.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
- Wide product models
- AP/AS series has three types of output polarities according to frequencies and output voltage. Select the best model for your needs.
- Fast response maximum 50 kHz
- The newly developed AS series has over five times faster and higher bandwidth than the AP series.

HIGH VOLTAGE AMPLIFIER
High voltage amplifier converts input voltage to high voltage waveform as it is as shown in Fig. These days, the demand for high voltage amplifiers is growing more and more, and it is now becoming an indispensable tool for research and development, experiments, and integration into a system for such fields as electronics, physics, biochemical, and medical industries. With high-voltage technologies, Matsusada Precision Inc. manufactures various high-voltage amplifiers to meet customers' requirements.
FOUR-QUADRANT OUTPUT RANGE
High voltage amplifier is generally equipped with the "sink" function for output currents that provides constant voltage operation without regard to the type of load, whether it is capacitive or conductive. (Fig. 2) As it gives a fast response, it is an ideal power supply for applications that require AC output. Matsusada high voltage amplifiers are all bipolar type and can be operated in a full four-quadrant area. (I, · II, · III, · IV, and area)
SLEW RATE
The responsivity of the AS series is determined with slew rate (SR). The step responsivity of our amplifier is shown in Fig. SR = DV/μS. In case the output amplitude is smaller, the response time becomes shorter.
CAPACITIVE LOAD
When a capacitive load is more than 100 pF (including a stray capacitance of output wire), the resonance in the output may occur. In that case, install 100 Ω (at 0.1 μF) to 1000 Ω (at 1000 pF) of high-voltage resistance in the output in series. Please note that the frequency band is limited when using an amplifier with a capacitive load, as shown in the formula on the right.
In addition, when an amplifier is used for a corona discharge, a current higher than its rating will flow, and it will affect the amplifier badly. In this case, as well as when using an amplifier with a capacitive load, please install the output resistance and limit the current.
* Please avoid continuous input of the high-frequency signal, which reduces the output frequency of an amplifier. An amplifier will break because of an increase in internal loss.
