Multifunctional and easy sequence controls for testing solutions
PSS2en is dedicated software enabling simple yet versatile sequence programming of various power supplies, electronic loads, and digital controllers for power supplies manufactured by Matsusada Precision. It allows linking and control of various units and combinations of different power supply and electronic load types, making it suitable for comprehensive testing.
It is perfect for aging tests of electronic components, accelerated life tests, burn-in tests, withstand voltage tests, dielectric breakdown tests, endurance tests, intermittent/continuous operation tests, and various simulation tests for automotive electrical components.
Applications
Destructive testing of electronic components (capacitors).
PSS2en can output voltage with the ramp waveform control, thereby enabling breakdown voltage measurement of components. PSS2en supports our programmable DC power supplies and high-voltage power supplies.
Thermal cycle testing of rechargeable batteries, connectors, etc.
PSS2en creates sequence patterns that simulate actual use and charges high currents with constant intervals to perform thermal cycling testing.
Testing can be performed in combination with our DC power supplies and electronic loads.
Endurance testing of products and components in conjunction with temperature chambers
While controlling the power supply with sequence patterns, PSS2en is available for the temperature control and monitoring of the temperature chamber.
PSS2en can work together with power supplies, Device Under Test (DUT), and ESPEC's temperature chambers.
Besides, the PSS2en can be used for a wide range of applications:
voltage fluctuation tests, high power electrical tests, withstand tests, highly accelerated life tests, migration tests, insulation resistance tests, and measurement of insulation aging, etc.
This application software, PSS2, is useful for research and development in Japan.

Keep sending setting values from the computer to change the behavior of our corresponding product.
Various sequences can be set up to 999 steps, depending on the parameters to be varied and the operation pattern.
(Depending on usage conditions, there may be a time lag between when the command is sent from the computer and when the power supply actually operates.)

Hardware programmed output mode (DC power supply is available.)
Pulse pattern and pulse ramp pattern of DC power supply provided optional (*) pulse ramp pattern can be set.
* For more information on these options, please refer to the individual datasheets for each power supply.
It is usable to combine pulse action and ramp action. If combining multi-set functions, it is also possible to operate program action by using voltage and current values set in memories a, b, and c. It is possible to set repeat count and, of course, continuous operation. This mode offers versatility by allowing slow ramping of voltage and current up or down to three predefined set values; these sequences are also repeatable.
Note: R4G and R4GT series: Memory count 20 (a to t) Other DC power supplies: Memory count 3 (a, b, c)
t1 to t4 and ta to tc, toff can be set respectively in the range of 0 to 999s and 0.0 to 99.9h.
Hardware sweep (DC power supply is available.)
Sweep items can be set for DC power supplies with -LDe (Pulse ramp pattern) option and main units in the TB series.
Hardware waveform mode for bipolar power supply (Only for models included in PSS2en-AMP)
The following intricate waveforms can be generated by setting program items for bipolar power supply main units
Output waveform image from bipolar power supply
Momentary Power Interruption Operating mode
(Only when AC power sources with -LPfl option are connected by PSS2en-DRS or PSS2en-DRJ)
Function with instantaneous interruption time can be set for AC power sources in the DRS series or DRJ series with the -Lpfl option.
Output Current Integration mode
(Only when DC power supplies with -LIc option are connected by models included in PSS2en-DCPS)
Integrated current value during sequential control operation can be monitored on DC power supplies equipped with -LIc option. (Up to 100 Ah) Also, the integrated current maximum value can be set as the stop condition of the sequential control operation.
It is very useful for purposes such as the management of plating solutions. For more details on these options, please refer to each datasheet of power supplies.
In addition to being introduced here, it is available under various specifications. Please feel free to contact our sales staff for more details.

Example for Sequential Control Operation
1. Programmed Test Sequence
First, set up communication with Matsusada Precision's Power Supply. Next, select the operating mode and build the automatic test sequence. No programming knowledge is required to build an automated test sequence. You can build an advanced automatic sequence program without in-depth programming knowledge by simply selecting the necessary items and entering numerical values. The number of settable program patterns is max. 16, It is possible to set various test conditions fitted to the target like selection of the operation mode and setting of any protection function, etc.
2. Test Execution Flow
It is possible to the test sequence of each group setup. On the operation display, it is possible to monitor the required information on one screen, such as a program, the status of the thermostatic chamber and the power supply, and voltage/current at testing. Also, when executed in parallel plural groups, it is possible to monitor this status together.
3. Viewing Measured Data and Graphs
It is possible that the test data is complete. It is possible to confirm the value of each test sequence, the individual graph, or all items shown in one graph. Also, it is possible to output measured data in CSV style and then sum up or analyze them with the spreadsheet software.
Direct Control mpde
It is possible to control directly the objective components to be controlled, such as power supplies. Various controls are possible on one screen, such as output ON/OFF, change in setting parameters such as voltage, record of output value, confirm status, etc. Since multiple power supplies can be controlled on one screen and individual parameters can be set, it can be used for various applications.
*Models included in PSS2en-ACPS and PSS2en-AMP are not available for control of multiple units.
Supports a Variety of Interfaces
By equipping the power supply with the -LMi (Multi-Digital Interface) option, remote control can be performed via LAN, USB (USBTMC), or RS-485. The most suitable interface can be selected depending on the usage environment, application, number of connected units, and communication distance.
- Installation of the VISA (Virtual Instrument Software Architecture) Library is necessary to use each communication port.
VISA library is the standard specification of measuring instrument connection software developed by the IVI Foundation.
PSS2en has been performed operation verification with National Instrument NI-VISA(Ver5.4). - For power supplies that can be equipped with the -LMi option, please contact our sales staff.
When using LAN or USBTMC port in the -LMi option models, data can be recorded at a minimum of 0.1-second intervals per power supply.
In other cases, a minimum interval can be set for 0.5 seconds.
Connection Example
Easy control of high voltage power supply with one LAN cable
Parallel operation of the R4K-36 units in different sequential programs.
Control of high voltage power supplies with the CO-HV controllers
Sweeping by using two bipolar power supplies built-in function generator
Test system combined DC power supply and electronic loads
