CAD Data Comparison
This function overlays a product's 3D CAD design model onto the actual 3D CT scan data to verify dimensional accuracy. The software automatically calculates geometric deviations and visualizes them as a 3D color map--typically using warm colors for positive deviations and cool colors for negative ones. This allows for quick identification of issues such as mold wear, warpage, or shrinkage, making it ideal for first-article inspection and quality control. (Requires the optional "Nominal/Actual Comparison Module".)
Reverse Engineering
This process generates surface data (e.g., STL format) from a CT scan of a physical part that lacks design drawings. The data can be imported into 3D CAD software to reconstruct an accurate digital model. This capability is essential for competitor analysis, reproducing discontinued spare parts, and digitizing handmade prototypes. (Requires the optional "Reverse Engineering Module".)
