FAQs

Is quantitative analysis (e.g., dimensions, volume, density) possible?

Micro CT Scanners FAQs

Yes. Matsusada Precision's X-ray CT systems are engineered as advanced quantitative analysis platforms, going beyond simple visualization. They allow for the accurate measurement of physical properties using high-resolution 3D data, supporting objective quality control and R&D evaluation.

  • Dimensional Measurement:

Perform non-destructive, non-contact measurements with micrometer-level precision. This includes standard measurements (distance, angle, diameter) as well as complex internal dimensions of assembled parts that are inaccessible to conventional calipers.

  • Volume Measurement:

Calculate the volume of entire components or specific features, such as internal voids or foreign inclusions. For example, users can quantify the total porosity in aluminum die-cast parts to verify compliance with quality standards.

  • Density Analysis:

The grayscale value of each voxel in the CT data correlates with the material's X-ray absorption, representing density. This allows for the visualization of density variations and component distribution within composite materials.

These quantitative analysis functions are integrated into our intuitive software, enabling high-precision measurements with simple point-and-click operations. Results can be exported as reports for quality control records or academic use.
*Note: While our CT systems provide highly accurate dimensional data for industrial inspection and analysis, they are not classified as certified metrology instruments under VDI/VDE standards.
