Note
The DRJ series is not designed for applications involving regenerative loads or reverse power flow into the unit. Do not connect the unit to devices that return power to the AC line or directly to commercial power grids. For applications requiring sink capability, please refer to our high-speed four-quadrant bipolar power supplies.
Functions
Compact
With its switching amplifier design, this bipolar power supply saves valuable bench space. Our advanced switching technology reduces its size to about one-sixth that of comparable linear amplifier models.
In addition, its compact design with only 5.5 inches (140 mm) width and approximately 5 kg weight allows it to be installed anywhere. The handle makes it easy to carry.
Wide Range of Output Voltage and Frequency
DRJ series can be used for various AC input devices. It is also capable of DC output, and thus, it can be used in various applications.
- AC output
- Voltage: 0 to 150 V/300 V, Frequency: 1 Hz to 550 Hz
- DC output
- Voltage: 0 to +212 V/-212 V/0 to +424 V/-424 V
Momentary Power Interruption Mode (-LPfl Option)
It is possible to conduct momentary power interruption testing of the AC Input devices simply.
This option enables simplified simulation of power line instabilities and momentary power interruptions for AC-powered devices. Users can easily reproduce unstable grid conditions to verify the behavior of the device under test (DUT).
When the momentary power failure operation is needed in three-phase output, the model which is equipped with -LPfl option is necessary as the model to be in charge of phase U. Please refer to "Options".
Setting time of momentary power interruption
Setting time: 10 ms to 5 s
Setting resolution: 10 ms
AC Output ON/OFF in accordance with The Input AC Supply ON/OFF (-LN Option)
This allows users to output state auto-recovery prevention (former: power failure protection) after input AC supply's recovery from stoppage without pressing the OUTPUT button on the front panel. Thus, remote re-activation without touching/accessing the power supply can be realized.
High Peak Current
It delivers a peak current of up to 20 A, making it ideal for driving capacitive input loads.
Universal Type Outlet
Power supply has the universal output outlet on the front panel so that various types of worldwide plugs can be used without adapter. Streamline your global product development. This feature makes testing more convenient and truly borderless.
Safety Features
The DRJ series incorporates robust safety features to protect both the power supply and the connected load. The output specifically shuts down immediately upon detecting abnormal currents, such as short circuits. Note: Loads with high inrush currents may trigger the overcurrent protection mechanism. For such applications, please select a model with sufficient current margin or consider the DRK series, which features a peak current limit function.
Various Output Modes
- Three-phase output
- Single-phase three-wire output
- Master/Slave
It is capable of three-phase output, single-phase three-wire output and master/slave connection as options.
Three-phase output (OPTION)
It allows three-phase AC testing and evaluation even in locations where only a single-phase 100 V/200 V is available. Its space-saving design with 5.51 inches/140 mm x 3 = 16.54 inches/420 mm width even when three-phase output is configured allows it to be used anywhere.
Single-phase three-wire output (OPTION)
It is possible to implement testing and evaluation of single phase three-wire even in locations with only single phase power.
Master/Slave (OPTION)
If higher output power is required, up to 1 kVA can be achieved through a Master/Slave connection, where one master unit is linked to a single slave unit.

-
Single-phase three-wire connection
A single-phase, three-wire output mode is available. Each unit can also be used as a single-phase output AC power source.
- It is possible to choose only one from (-L1p3wm, -L1p3ws), (-LPhu, -LPhv,-LPhw) or (-LMsm, -LMss). It is necessary to equip each power supply with every option.
- To use an interface option (-LUs1, -LGb, or -LGob), add only to the master unit (-L1p3wm, -LPhu, or -LMsm). It is not required for the slave unit.
- If the momentary power failure operation is needed in three-phase output, the -LPhu optional model which is also equipped with the -LPfl option is necessary. -LPhv or -LPhw optional models need not necessarily be equipped with the -LPfl option. However, when the momentary power failure operation is needed in single-phase output, that is, when one DRJ is used alone, the -LPfl option is necessary. Therefore, when DRJ may be used alone and asked for the momentary power failure operation, it is necessary to equip each DRJ with the -LPfl option.
- For high-accuracy tests and measurements, other models of Matsusada high-speed response bipolar power supplies and amplifiers are available.
- Interface: Only one of -LGb, -LGob, or -LUs1 can be selected.
