Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization (MALDI) is a soft ionization technique used in mass spectrometry. It is particularly effective for analyzing large, non-volatile molecules such as proteins, polymers, and other biomolecules. This technique is frequently combined with a Time-of-Flight (TOF) mass analyzer, a configuration widely known as MALDI-TOF MS.
