Bone mineral density (BMD) is a measure of bone strength and is used to diagnose osteoporosis. Bones comprise calcium and minerals, but their density decreases with age. The measurement of bone mineral density using X-rays is called X-ray bone densitometry and is typically performed using the DEXA (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry) method.
Matsusada Precision manufactures and sells X-ray generators and high-voltage power supplies for use in various X-ray systems, including bone densitometry equipment.
