How do we reduce concentric circle noise (ring artifact) in CT images?

Category
Micro CT Scanners FAQ

Ring artifacts are concentric patterns of bright or dark circles that appear in CT images. They are primarily caused by variations in the response of individual detector elements or dead pixels on the detector.
These artifacts can be reduced by performing detector calibration and by using the system's ring artifact suppression features.
