Stable operation regardless of load impedance, featuring wide bandwidth and high-speed response from DC to 1 MHz
The DOA series is a four-quadrant bipolar amplifier featuring wide bandwidth and ultra-high-speed response from DC to 1 MHz.
It is ideal for transient response testing, effectively utilizing its high-speed characteristics. Capable of operating as both a DC power supply and an electronic load, it can drive various loads, including inductive loads such as transformers, capacitive loads such as capacitors, and piezoelectric elements.
This versatile series delivers maximum current even at DC output.
Note: This product is not designed for charge and discharge of battery.
For battery charging and discharging applications, please refer to the Battery Cycle Tester product page.

Functions
Protections
Overvoltage Protection (OVP)
Equipped with overvoltage protection, this unit limits the output voltage to approximately 110% of the rating, protecting the load during fault conditions.
Overcurrent Protection (OCP)
Equipped with overcurrent protection, this unit limits the output current to approximately 110% of the rating, protecting both the power supply and the load during overload.
High-speed Overcurrent Protection
This unit features two types of overcurrent protection: a high-speed circuit to limit pulse currents and a standard circuit for static currents. The standard protection limits continuous currents with a response speed of approximately 1 ms. The high-speed protection circuit limits pulse currents (e.g., square waves or capacitive loads) to approximately twice the rated current.
Output Range
This unit is a bipolar power supply that is possible to operate in four-quadrant behavior. It is able to source or sink current in the ranges as shown in the following figure.
Specifications
- Input voltage
- 100 to 240 Vac, 50/60 Hz, Single-phase
- Output control
-
[External control signal] Vcon-in, Input voltage -3 to +3 V
[Front panel] DC bias: 10-turn potentiometer with -100% to +100% setting
Options
- -LN

Automatic Output Recovery
This option retains the output state when recovering from an input power interruption, such as toggling the AC power switch or a power failure.
This eliminates the need to manually reset the protection status or turn the OUTPUT switch off and on again.
Caution: If the power is turned on while the OUTPUT switch is set to ON, the unit will output voltage immediately.

The output range is shifted
- Shifting following 3 ranges is possible for ±75 V output models.
- (L) -125 V to +25 V
- (M) -75 V to +75 V
- (H) -25 V to +125 V
- Shifting following 3 ranges is possible for ±150 V output models.
- (L) -250 V to +50 V
- (M) -150 V to +150 V
- (H) -50 V to +250 V
This knob is attached to the front panel.
How to Order
When placing an order, please add the option code(s) after the model name.
If adding two or more options, omit the “-L” from the second and subsequent option codes, and list them in alphabetical order.

Tech Notes
Capacitive Load
If the capacitive load exceeds 100 pF (including stray capacitance of the output wire), output resonance may occur. In such cases, insert a high-voltage resistor of 100 Ω (for 0.1 μF) to 1000 Ω (for 1000 pF) in series with the output. Please note that the frequency bandwidth is limited when driving a capacitive load, as shown in the formula on the right.
Additionally, in applications such as corona discharge, currents exceeding the rating may flow, potentially damaging the amplifier. In these cases, as with capacitive loads, please install an output limiting resistor.
* Avoid continuous input of high-frequency signals that exceed the amplifier's output capabilities, as this increases internal loss and may cause failure.
