Solar inverter, also called a photovoltaic (PV) inverter or power inverter, photovoltaic power conditioning, solar power conditioning unit, converts direct current (DC) electricity into alternating current (AC). Used mainly in houses and apartment complexes, DC electricity produced by solar cells (photovoltaic cells), ENEFARM, and other power generation systems can be covered into AC that can be used by household electrical appliances and other devices.

Concerning the photovoltaic cell, the power generation is often unstable due to weather conditions. In such cases, the solar inverter (PV inverter) is necessary to stabilize the output. Some are also equipped with MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking), a function that tracks the voltage and current to their optimum values to maximize the amount of electricity generated.

The photovoltaic cell systems also feature Fault Ride Through (FRT), which provides operational continuity in the event of power generation instability. More recently, products that support the connection of batteries and use hybrid power inverters to utilize partial off-grid solar systems.
