Functions
Color LCD Touch Panel
The color LCD touch panel significantly improves operability and visibility.
- Intuitive setting of output voltage, current, and power parameters.
- Simplifies the configuration of complex sequence programs without a PC.
- Customizable error notifications allow users to filter alerts based on system requirements.
- Includes a physical setting dial for traditional tactile control.
Prevents Accidental Operation
Prevent wrong operation
The PKTS series offers two lock modes to ensure system safety. "Full Lock" completely disables front panel controls to prevent accidental changes, while "Normal Lock" disables settings but retains the emergency stop functionality via the power switch.
Users can select the appropriate mode based on their operational safety requirements.
(In both modes, the output can be cut off using the Power Switch.)
Password Function New
New protection using password along with "Two-mode Lock Function"
In this function, you need to input a 4-digit PIN code to unlock the Two-mode lock function. (Available Enabled/Disabled)
This function allows you to prevent the following problems.
- During a long aging test, the output was accidentally turned off, and the data was wasted.
- During an energization test on the shipping inspection line, an erroneous operation caused a change in output conditions, resulting in damages to the test object.
Programming Function
PKTS series comes with the programming functions. It is available with easy-to-operate programming on the front panel of parameters in step time, step amplitude, ramp, CV/CC mode, and program end-setting. By utilizing arbitrary waveform generation, the PKTS series is used in a wide variety of applications such as inspections, evaluations, and verifications. It offers the standard features as follows.
• Step setting time: 0.0 to 3600.0 s
• Up to 1024 steps can be set and saved in a program.
• CV/CC mode is available for each program.
• Number of repetitions: Infinite, or 1 time to 999 times
Standalone Data Logging and Programming
Eliminates the need for external data loggers or a permanent PC connection. This significantly reduces wiring time and makes the unit ideal for cycle testing in isolated environments or secure areas where PCs are restricted.
- • Built-in Data Logging
Capture output data directly to a USB memory stick at intervals as fast as 0.1 seconds. Log data can be exported to CSV format using the dedicated MLV software.
- • PC-Less Operation
Sequence programs created with the dedicated MSS software can be saved to a USB drive and loaded directly via the front USB port, allowing for standalone operation.
Application Package (Attached)
The PKTS series comes standard with the application software for sequence creation and editing, along with operation log viewing.
(1) MSS (Matsusada Sequence Software): Creating sequence program data
Easily creating sequence program data
Sequence program creation is available by the main unit as well as a computer via this dedicated software MSS. It is effortlessly accomplished by using MSS. The created program data can be saved in USB memory. Up to 1,024 steps can be loaded from the USB port on the front panel.
(2) MLV (Matsusada Log Viewer): Graphical display of operation logs
Quickly display operation logs in graphs
Using the Matsusada Log Viewer (MLV), you can read log files saved on USB memory, etc., and quickly display them in graphs. This allows you to easily find abnormalities during operation.
CSV file export for operation log data
You can also select export items from the operation log and save them in CSV format. Then, you can load the CSV log data in a spreadsheet to help you create reports.
Sink Current Suppression Function
When supplying power to loads with capacities like batteries and capacitors, the sink current suppression is used to reduce the reverse current flowing from the load to the unit in order to prevent a voltage drop on the load as the output is OFF or the set voltage is lowered.
Variable Internal Resistance Function (in CV Mode)
By setting the internal resistance value as any value, it causes voltage drop due to load current. This is best fit for simulating battery, solar cell panel, fuel cell battery.
(Programmable range of the internal resistance value is 0 Ω to rated voltage/rated current)
CC/CV Preferred Setting Function
CV (Constant Voltage) or CC (Constant Current) is the preferred mode, and it can be selectable when a load is such as a diode whose resistance value can dramatically change at a certain point, an overshoot of current may take place if the power supply is triggered under CV mode. PKTS series can help suppress this overshoot by choosing the CC mode trigger as a preference. This feature is highly valued for lowering the risk of damaging expensive loads typically such as high-power laser diode modules.
Preset Memory Function
The PKTS series has the preset memory function. The preset values are automatically saved at power-off.
In addition, the output voltage, output current, and output power can be individually saved up to three settings.
Constant Power Control Function (CP Mode)
In addition to Constant Voltage control (CV mode) and Constant Current control (CC mode), Constant Power control (CP mode) is provided.
With CP mode, a constant power supply is provided depending on loads, such as resistors (heaters) whose resistance changes with temperature. It is available without monitoring voltage/current or attaching external control devices (temperature regulators).
External Analog Control
The external control of analog input/output in voltage/current/power is galvanically isolated from the power supply output as the standard feature. It is safe to control/monitor multiple power supplies because the external analog input/output control has chassis (ground) potential.
- External output ON/OFF
-
The external output ON/OFF can be switched by relay or TTL signal. The signal logic can be selected by inputting 5 V.
- Remote sensing
-
The function ensures the prevention of stability deterioration which could be caused by the voltage drop (VO-VL) due to resistance (R) of the output wire or contact resistance. (up to 0.5 V)
- Remote/Local switching
-
Up to three modes of Output voltage control, Output current control, Overvoltage protection, Overcurrent protection, and Overpower protection, can be switched individually by a relay or TTL signal.
