Corona poling is a technique used to create permanent electrical polarization in dielectric materials, such as polymer films and ceramics. This process utilizes a high-voltage power supply to generate a corona discharge, which deposits ions onto the material's surface. The resulting strong electric field aligns the material's internal electric dipoles, imparting useful properties like piezoelectricity or nonlinear optical effects.
