Electronic Loads Selection Chart
What is an Electronic Load?
An electronic load is a programmable instrument designed to test power sources by simulating a variety of electrical loads. Unlike simple resistive loads, electronic loads use active semiconductor circuits to dynamically sink current and dissipate power. This allows for precise, repeatable testing under various operating modes, such as constant current (CC), constant voltage (CV), constant resistance (CR), and constant power (CP).
Key advantages over conventional resistive loads include: •Compact and Space-Saving: Occupies significantly less bench or rack space, reflecting Matsusada's expertise in high-density design. •Efficient Heat Management: Generates less heat, simplifying thermal considerations in test setups. •Simplified & Automated Testing: Automates complex load simulations, eliminating the need for manual calculations and adjustments.
Matsusada Precision offers a comprehensive lineup of high-performance DC electronic loads and regenerative electronic loads (bidirectional power supplies). Our portfolio ranges from compact benchtop models ideal for R&D to high-power, rack-mountable systems for production testing. To meet even greater power and current demands, select models can be expanded with booster units. All our electronic loads feature standard communication interfaces, enabling seamless integration into automated test environments and multi-channel systems.
