Why doesn't the output voltage reach its maximum?

Category
Power Supply Usage FAQs

If the output voltage does not reach the target setting, the power supply has likely entered Constant Current (CC) mode.

This occurs when the connected load requires more current than the preset current limit (CC setting) allows. To prevent the current from exceeding this limit, the power supply automatically reduces the output voltage in accordance with Ohm's law.

To resolve this, please check the following:

  • Ensure the current limit (CC setting) is set high enough for the connected load.
  • Verify that the load resistance is not lower than expected.
