Is it necessary to use the ground plate (power supply accessories)?

The ground plate accessory is not necessary if the power supply's chassis is properly connected to a protective earth (PE) ground. Our power supplies are designed with the expectation that the chassis will be grounded for safe and optimal performance. The ground plate is provided as an alternative grounding method for situations where grounding the chassis directly is not possible.
