The metal terminal cover is designed to ensure operator safety. It is electrically connected to the power supply chassis. When the unit is properly grounded, the cover remains at ground potential, minimizing the risk of electric shock.
For models with bus bar terminals, the interior of the cover is electrically insulated. This prevents the metal exterior from making contact with the live output terminals.
