Switching regulator DC power supplies or switching mode power supplies (SMPS) are often simply called switching power supplies. They rely upon a switching mechanism and a switching circuit for voltage regulation instead of large transformers and voltage regulators, leading to a smaller size and minimal excess heat. These supplies are highly efficient with a small form factor and can be used for a broad range of high-power/high-voltage applications. The switching operation introduces ripple noise to the output power, but that can be managed with the right design and filtration components. However, the term switching power supply can be taken in a broad context, i.e., from dedicated power supplies to simply built-in AC/DC (conversion and voltage control) and DC/DC (voltage level conversion) circuits and functionality of some electronic devices.
However, in the products of Matsusada Precision, switching-type DC power supplies refer to adjustable (programmable) DC power supplies with worldwide AC input. They both convert the mains/supply current from AC to DC and offer a DC output of the desired voltage ( within the supply's output range).

Matsusada offers a wide range of reliable benchtop switching regulator DC power supplies, from power output ranging from 0.2 W to 1,200 W, output voltage ranging from 2V to 1 kV, and output current range of 0.1 to 180 A. This comprehensive range makes Matsusada's benchtop DC power supplies a highly scalable solution for the DC power needs of a wide range of industrial, commercial, and academic entities.

There are seven different series:

R4K-36 series: These 36 W (output power) supplies are the world's smallest variable DC power supplies with precise manual and remote output control (0.1 mA). It's air-cooled (no fan), so the operation is quiet. This compact form makes them ideal for a wide and flexible range of use cases.

R3K-36 series: This is the budget version of the R4K-36 series, with most of the same functionalities except the communication function.

R4K-80 series: This is Matsusada's 80 W power supply series. It's another range of ultras-slim programmable power supplies that are around 1.38 inches/a little over 3.5 cm wide. It comes with features like power factor correction and universal input.

RK-80 series: It's similar to the R4K-80 series but with a three-digit display instead of four and a different output resolution.

TB series: The TB series is offered in three different power ratings (360 W, 720 W, and 1080 W), each with its own unique enclosure type and dimensions. These benchtop power supplies have an inherent Turbo Function, which allows them to offer a voltage and current range that's three times higher than DC supplies with the same power output.

RK series: It's a high-power DC supply designed for low noise (despite its switching regulator). The RK series is offered in three different enclosure sizes. This product has no turbo function, but many models support wide voltage and current range.

PKTS series: Compact high-power 800 W while being just 2 inches wide. Newly introduced, it has many built-in features and is easy to use.

All these switching regulator power supplies come with Matsusada's characteristic low-noise design/features, making them suitable for a range of testing and development use cases, where they are incorporated into the QA/QC or prototyping test bench. They have several other uses in both industrial and laboratory settings, like instrument calibration and troubleshooting.
The benchtop switching power supplies are designed to be placed on any flat surface with or without mechanical support. Since many Matsusada supplies are quite compact and lightweight, they can easily be placed anywhere and don't take up much of your workspace.
