Benchtop High Performance Programmable AC Power Source

DRS series are well-regulated AC power source realized programmable and high power in unparalleled compact size.
They are a new type of AC power source that has high-quality output combined with the wonder small-footprint size desired in experiments, evaluations or cell production, etc. Despite its compactness, DRS has adopted universal AC input, as well as having a universal output terminal on the front panel, allowing users to operate borderless easily.
In addition, this AC power source is available as standard with a momentary power interruption function, a 32-step programmable internal memory sequence function, and a measurement function. Therefore, it is suitable for testing and evaluating AC input devices during a momentary power failure and input AC instability.

Note
DRS series are not available to such application that electric power is infused externally or regeneration to behavior is made. Therefore they are not suitable for such devices that "returning generated electric power to AC line" or "being connected directly to the commercial system".
Please make AC output in combination with our high speed four-quadrant bipolar power supplies and such devices.

It is possible to program frequently used wave patterns and output based on it. The test patterns can be set by the operation on the front panel and by the remote control.

Momentary power interruption mode

is possible to conduct momentary power interruption test of the AC input devices.
It can reproduce the situations where AC input line is unstable or momentary power interruption happens, thus the operating conditions of AC input device (tested device) can be checked under such environment.

It is able to set time of instantaneous power failure with 1 ms unit in 1 ms to 5 s turning the rotary encoder.

This feature allows to select phase when output is triggered on. Output off results in zero cross phase. (sec chart.)

Various measurement function

Safety Functions

The DRS series is equipped with a safety function to protect the power supply and connected load. For example, if an abnormal current flows, such as a short circuit, the output is immediately stopped. However, if a load with an inrush current is connected, the output may be stopped by the overcurrent protection function. In this case, use a product with a margin for output current or use the SRK series with a current limit function. Some loads have inrush currents that flow more than 10 times the rated current.

As the external control and the USB interface are equipped as standard, they are applicable to automation of production line immediately.
And control by LAN, RS-232C, RS-485 and GPIB are possible by the optical interface/digital interface option.

With optical communication, isolation control is performed. As complete isolation is performed by means of optical fiber, this enables advance prevention of erroneous operation involved with transient phenomenon caused by surges, inductive lightning, external noise, etc.

  • Noisy environment including factories (Example: Motors or coils are used near power supplies and loads).
  • Using with high voltage floating (more than 250 V).
  • Installation distance of 2 meters or more between this AC Power Source and a controller such as a computer, laptop, or Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).
