How to Read Resistance Values

Tolerance ±20% ±1% ±2% ±10% ±5%

Carbon film resistance (Bands: 4)

Four bands are printed for carbon film registers.
4700 Ω = 4.7 kΩ

Metal film resistance (Bands: 5)

This is an image of register with five bands.

How to Read Capacitors

Electrolytic capacitors

Withstand voltage used on this value or less.

Ceramic/Film capacitors

Capacitance is represented by a three-digit number. The units of measurement are pF (picofarads).

Ceramic capacitor

This is a picture of ceramic capacitor. A three-digit number is printed on capacitors to indicate the capacitance.

Film capacitor

This is a picture of Film capacitor.

1 μF = 1 x 10 e - 6 F
